Spring 2019 update from Verantos
It is my pleasure to share our Spring update, provided as a service from Verantos to those interested in real world evidence. I hope you find the information useful.
On December 6, 2018, the FDA announced their strategic framework to advance the use of real world evidence (RWE). This framework highlights data validity, including data fit for purpose and adequacy of evidence. It represents a step forward in using electronic health records to better understand patient populations and accelerate personalized medicine.
Verantos is continuing to enhance its real world evidence platform in support of this goal. Our technology is able to understand the entirety of the medical record to enable advanced clinical studies. As of early 2019, we are increasingly engaged to develop synthetic control arms and pragmatic clinical trials to reduce study costs and understand real world results.
We are speaking on a panel titled “How is the ‘regulatory grade’ criterion defined and what does it take for RWE to meet it?” with the FDA, Syneos Health, and Optum at ISPOR 2019 in New Orleans in May. We hope to see you there!

ISPOR New Orleans - May 18-22
The Verantos team will be exhibiting at ISPOR in New Orleans, May 18-22, and our CEO Dan Riskin will co-present with experts from Syneos Health on an RWE issue panel during breakout session 7 on Tuesday, May 21, from 5-6 p.m.
